Circular Chef shows recipes built from supermarket sale flyers. It needs a zip code to know which flyers apply to you, and an account to remember what you liked. That is essentially the whole of it. This page describes exactly what is stored and who touches it.

What we store

• Your account. An email address, held by our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google, we receive the email address associated with that Google account. Passwords are stored by the authentication provider as salted hashes and are never visible to us.
• Your settings. The zip code you browse, the supermarket you prefer, and how many recipes you like shown at once.
• Your reactions. Which recipes you favourited, hid, or reported as low quality.
• Your ingredient preferences. The ingredients you marked as liked or disliked, used to score how well a recipe matches your taste.
• Requests and feedback. Any zip code or store you ask us to add, and any feedback you send.
• On your own device. Your zip code, chosen store, and recipe count are also kept locally so the app works before it has talked to the server. Clearing the app's storage removes them.

What we don't store

• No analytics or advertising trackers. The app bundles no analytics, attribution, or advertising SDK of any kind.
• No location data. A zip code is something you type. The app never requests device location.
• No payment details. Circular Chef takes no payments.
• No contacts, photos, or files. The app asks for no such permissions.

Who processes it

• Supabase hosts the database and handles authentication. Everything listed above under "What we store" lives there.
• Cloudflare serves this website and the web app, and processes request metadata such as IP address in the ordinary course of delivering and protecting a website.
• Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google, and only to complete that sign-in.

About the recipe generation

Recipes are generated ahead of time by a language model reading supermarket flyer data — item names, prices, and dates. This runs as a scheduled backend job against the flyers themselves. No account data, preferences, or reactions are sent to the model, and nothing you do in the app is used as input to it.

Links out to Flipp

Sale items link out to flipp.com, which publishes the original circulars. Following one of those links takes you to a third-party site governed by its own privacy policy. We pass along the item identifier and, where relevant, the zip code used to look it up — nothing about you.

Keeping it, and deleting it

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can clear individual reactions and preferences in the app at any time. To have your account and everything associated with it deleted, email support@circularchef.com from the address on the account and we will remove it.

Children

Circular Chef is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and anyone with an account will be told before the change takes effect.
